Jeff's Biography

In a world...
(I always wanted that guy narrating my life :) )

I was born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky in 1974. As my dad was in the Army we moved quite a bit, from Kentucky to California, then Germany, Texas, North Carolina, and then to Alabama.

I graduated from Grissom High School in Alabama in 1992. From there I went to Florida State University and tried to find a creative outlet. While trying to get into advertising I ended up with a history degree that now only gets used to answer certain columns on Jeopardy. Finally, I got into communications and graduated with a dual major.

Following my fiancee, Kristin, I went farther south to Gainesville, the town on the edge of North Florida and the fabled Florida of plastic cheap flamingos. I continued my studies at the University of Florida and got my Master's in Mass Communication. Immediately following I fell into the college trap of becoming a manager of a fast food restaurant, a sneaky pit that took nearly a year to climb out of.

Following that I went to work for Moltech Power Systems and finagled my way into their marketing department just before the bottom dropped out. Nevertheless, I got my foot in the door for graphic and web design and soon made the transition over into the underbelly of the University of Florida. I lurk there still today (kind of like Scuzzlebutt).

So now my wife and I live on the outskirts of Gainesville in the sleepy little town of Newberry, once the Wild West of Florida, before the phosphate mines went out of style courtesy of World War I (okay, so I can't shake that history thing...have to read all those Historic Markers). We're busy pretending that we know how to manage a household, and so far are doing a pretty good job of it. Of course, now that we have successfully integrated three cats and a baby, and talk about home equity, I guess we ARE adults.
